Custom Printed Wall Murals

The largest change you can make to a room for the smallest budget

A 10-by-8-foot printed mural, designed, produced, and installed, generally comes in under a thousand dollars. There is nothing else in commercial interiors that transforms a space completely for that money. New flooring, new furniture, a partition, and a lighting scheme all cost several times more and change the room less.

Printed in our Anna shop as part of our digital printing capability and installed as part of our interior graphics service.

Materials, matched to the wall

Smooth adhesive wall vinyl

Standard matte finish for smooth, cured drywall. Best print quality, cleanest finish, most economical.

Textured-surface film

For orange peel, knockdown, skip trowel, brick, and block. Conformable, applied with heat and worked into the recesses with a roller. Costs more per square foot and takes considerably longer to install, and it is the only thing that will hold on a textured surface.

Printable wallpaper

Paste-applied rather than self-adhesive. More forgiving on imperfect walls, easier to remove cleanly, and it has a softer surface appearance that suits hospitality and residential-feel interiors.

Repositionable fabric film

Applies without wet adhesive, removes years later with no residue at all. This is what we specify for leased offices where the tenant is worried about the state of the wall at move-out, and it has saved several clients from a deposit argument.

What businesses around Collin County put on them

City skylines and local landmarks. Downtown Dallas at dusk appears in more North Texas offices than any other single image, and it works because it is instantly recognisable and it says the business belongs here.

Brand imagery and product photography. Particularly effective in showrooms and client-facing spaces where the product itself cannot be displayed.

Founder and team photography. Underused and extremely effective. A wall of real people doing real work beats stock imagery every time, and it costs the same to print.

Company timelines. A corridor-length graphic running from the founding date to the present. Good for recruitment, good for client tours, and it gives a long blank corridor a reason to exist.

Abstract texture and colour. Break rooms, wellness rooms, quiet spaces.

Themed environments. Gyms, clinics, paediatric practices, schools, escape rooms, restaurants. Anywhere the room is supposed to feel like something specific.

File resolution, explained properly

For a mural viewed from a few feet away, the target is 100 to 150 dpi at final printed size. That means a 12-foot-wide mural wants an image roughly 14,000 to 21,000 pixels across.

A 2,000-pixel-wide stock photo will not enlarge to 12 feet. No amount of software will invent detail that was never captured. We will tell you this before you pay for the print rather than after, and where an image cannot work, we will either source an alternative or suggest a design approach that suits the resolution you have, such as a treated or stylised version where softness reads as intentional.

Panelling, outlets and obstructions

Murals wider than about four to five feet are printed in panels with a small overlap, because roll media and installation both have practical width limits.

We plan where those panel breaks fall at the design stage rather than letting the printer decide. A seam positioned on a dark area, a colour boundary, or a natural vertical line in the image is invisible from viewing distance. A seam running through the middle of a face is not.

Light switches, outlets, thermostats, and data points are cut around precisely on site with a fresh blade. Vents, fire alarms, and fire equipment stay fully clear, since covering them breaches building code, and we plan the layout around them.

Frequently Asked Questions

A printed wall mural typically costs $8 to $15 per square foot installed, so a 10 by 8-foot mural generally lands between $650 and $1,200. iCandy Grafix quotes by wall size, surface type, and installation access, and textured walls cost more because they require conformable film and slower installation.

Yes, using conformable textured-surface film applied with heat, or paste-applied wallpaper which handles moderate texture well. Standard smooth wall vinyl will not adhere properly to orange peel or knockdown finishes, so iCandy Grafix inspects the surface before quoting.

Aim for 100 to 150 dpi at final printed size, which for a 12-foot-wide mural means an image around 14,000 to 21,000 pixels across. Low-resolution images cannot be enlarged to mural scale, and iCandy Grafix will assess your file and tell you whether it will hold up before printing.

Wait at least three weeks. Paint continues outgassing solvents after it feels dry, and vinyl applied during that window bonds to the uncured paint film rather than the wall, which can pull paint off on removal. This is the most common cause of wall graphic failure.

Yes. Standard wall vinyl removes with gentle heat on properly cured paint. For leased premises where the wall condition at move-out matters, iCandy Grafix can supply repositionable fabric film that removes with no residue at all.
