This is where the large majority of failed wall graphics come from. Somebody applies standard adhesive vinyl to brick; it looks excellent for three weeks, and then it starts lifting out of every mortar joint.
Standard exterior-grade cast vinyl with a UV overlaminate. Straightforward, and this is the ideal surface for a wall graphic.
Requires conformable textured-surface film. It is a different material entirely, applied with heat and worked into every recess and mortar line with a roller. It costs more per square foot, and it takes considerably longer to install, because a bricklayer’s mortar joints have to be individually worked rather than squeegeed over.
Anyone quoting you a brick wall graphic at the same rate as a smooth wall is either using the wrong material or has not looked at the wall.
Vinyl will not hold, and no film will fix it. In these cases, we recommend a printed rigid panel mounted off the wall on standoffs or a frame instead. We would rather tell you that and lose the wrap sale than take the money for something we know is going to fail in a season.
We check the wall before quoting. A clear photo helps; a site visit is better, and for anything above about a hundred square feet, we will come and look.
Laminated cast vinyl on a smooth exterior wall lasts 3 to 5 years in North Texas. Textured-surface film on brick runs 2 to 4 years, since the material takes more abuse from the substrate itself and from water sitting in the recesses.
Orientation matters more than most people expect. South- and west-facing walls take the full afternoon sun through a Texas summer and will fade noticeably faster than the same graphic on a north elevation. If you have a choice of walls, north or east will give you an extra season or two.
Worth adding to any wall reachable from ground level, and we recommend it as standard on anything facing an alley, a rear parking area, or an unlit side street.
An anti-graffiti overlaminate allows spray paint and marker to be removed with a solvent without damaging the print underneath. There are also sacrificial films, which are removed and replaced after a tagging incident, leaving the graphic intact. The sacrificial option costs less up front and more over time.
Large wall graphics are treated as wall signage under most city ordinances in Collin County, which means they can require a permit and can count against the total sign area your frontage is allowed.
That total allowance matters. If you already have a fascia sign and a monument sign, a large wall graphic may push you over the permitted area, and the city can require its removal after installation. Check with the planning department in McKinney, Frisco, Prosper or wherever the building sits before ordering.

From smooth painted surfaces, yes, with heat and care, though some paint touch-up is occasionally needed on older or poorly bonded paint. From brick and textured masonry, removal is more involved, and residue in the mortar joints may need cleaning. Discuss removal expectations before installation if the building is leased.
There is no practical size limit. Graphics above ten feet in any dimension are produced as matched panels with a planned overlap, and iCandy Grafix positions the panel breaks to fall on natural lines in the artwork so the seams are not obvious from viewing distance.
