Outdoor banner vinyl is scrim-reinforced, and that polyester mesh gives the surface a faint weave texture. Outside, in daylight, nobody notices.
Under gym lighting or a photographer’s flash, that texture catches light across the whole surface and the banner looks cheap in every single photograph taken in that room. For a championship banner that will hang for twenty years and appear in team photos every season, that is a permanent problem for the sake of a small saving.

Smooth indoor vinyl with sewn pole pockets top and bottom is the best choice for a school gym. It hangs flat, resists corner curl, and the matte finish does not glare under gym lighting or in game-night photographs.

Only briefly. Smooth indoor vinyl is not scrim-reinforced, so it tears at the grommets in wind, and it is not UV stabilised for sustained sun exposure. For outdoor use, choose outdoor vinyl or mesh.
Usually yes. Send photographs with a tape measure in frame plus the dimensions, and iCandy Grafix will match size, layout and typography as closely as possible. Exact colour matching to older sun-faded banners is not always achievable and we will tell you straight if it is not.
