Senior night. The last home game. Playoff week when the whole town turns up. State qualifiers.
The photographs from those nights sit on a mantelpiece for twenty years, and what is in the background of them matters more than anyone admits while they are ordering. A crooked printout taped to a fence, or a proper sign with the kid’s name on it, is the difference between a photo somebody frames and one they scroll past.
iCandy Grafix produces spirit signage for high schools, middle schools, youth leagues, booster clubs, cheer programmes and band boosters across McKinney, Melissa, Anna, Van Alstyne, Prosper, Celina, Frisco, Allen and the wider Dallas-Fort Worth area. Bulk pricing, school colour matching, and turnarounds built around a game schedule rather than a production calendar.
Booster clubs call us in the second week of August wanting ninety senior night signs for a game that Friday. Sometimes we can do it. Often we cannot, and somebody spends the rest of the season apologising to parents whose kid did not get a sign.
It is almost never the printing that is the problem. It is collecting photographs from forty families, half of whom send a cropped group shot from two seasons ago.
Here is the schedule that actually works.
Order three weeks out. Start collecting parent photographs four weeks out, because that is the step that runs late every single time. Set a hard deadline for families and mean it.
Order in July. Sponsor banners in particular need the sponsor logos gathered, and chasing a local business for a vector file in August while school is starting is nobody’s idea of a good time.
Two weeks minimum before the game you want them at. Each one needs a photograph and an individual cut path, so they take longer than flat signage.
Call us the moment you clinch. We will have artwork ready and sitting in the queue so it prints the same day the decision is made. Playoff runs are short and unpredictable and the shops that serve schools well are the ones set up for that.
Three weeks.
If you are a booster club officer, send us the season calendar in July and we will schedule the whole year. It costs less because we batch production, and nobody is panicking in October.
Almost everything in this category gets substantially cheaper at quantity. Sixty yard signs is not sixty times the price of one, because the design, setup and press time happen once.
For fundraising programmes, a lot of the booster clubs we work with sell spirit items at a markup to fund the season. We quote those at a wholesale rate so the margin actually lands with the programme rather than with us. Decals, magnets and garden flags are the most profitable items to resell because the unit cost is low and parents genuinely want them.
Tell us at quote stage whether the items are for resale, because it changes the pricing tier.
Custom senior night yard signs typically cost $18 to $30 each for single-sided coroplast with an H-stake, with the price dropping noticeably above 25 units. iCandy Grafix quotes school orders in bulk and lists yard signs in our online shop with a starting price.
Yard signs, decals and magnets take 2 to 5 business days after proof approval, and big head signs 5 to 7 days because each needs an individual cut path. Collecting photographs from families is usually the longest part of the process, so start three weeks before your event.
Yes. iCandy Grafix quotes tiered bulk pricing for schools, booster clubs and youth leagues, and offers wholesale rates on spirit items being resold as a fundraiser so the margin stays with the programme. Tell us at quote stage if the items are for resale.
Yes. Individual player yard signs, locker magnets and big head signs are among our most requested school products. Send a spreadsheet of names and numbers plus photograph files named to match, and iCandy Grafix produces the set as a single variable data run so per-unit cost stays low.
We produce artwork for the school, booster club or organisation authorised to use the mark, and we will ask who is approving the job. College and professional team logos require a licence and cannot be produced without one. iCandy Grafix can design an original alternative in a similar spirit.
Order fall banners and fence signage in July, senior night signs three weeks before the event, and big head signs two weeks out. Better still, send iCandy Grafix your season calendar in July and we will schedule the whole year, which costs less and avoids the annual August scramble.
Send us your roster, your season calendar, or just a photograph of what you did last year. We will tell you what it costs and when to order it.
